They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery

Taedon is big into imitating us these days.  If you make a noise, he will make it even if he is in the other room and we don't realize he is even listening.  Time to start watching what we say and do!  Here he is with dad's phone making some important calls.

I'm assuming he picked this up from me hugging his teddy bears and saying I love you as I do it.  Anytime you tell him I love you this is what he does.

This was learned from Niko no doubt.

Taedon LOVES Mexican food.  If only we still lived in San Diego!  Here he is enjoying my homemade enchiladas for lunch leftovers from the other night.  Poor Niko waited underneath the high chair for droppings but he didn't get any.

The latest fun is stealing dada's baba as he calls it.  He is super sneaky and quick when he takes it and walks all around the house drinking all of dad's water.  The straw is bigger than his sippy cup so when he takes the first drink he is usually stunned with how much water came out.  It happens every time.

This is Niko's new friend Lampchop.  Originally I bought it for Taedon (even though it was technically a dog doy) because he fell in love with it at the store one day.  Niko has since "adopted" it and carries it everywhere.  He never gets toys like these because he destroys them in seconds after receiving them but for some reason he is super gentle with his friend.  He has had it for about a month now with only one minor hole that I think was a defect and nothing he did.  Lambchop got some stitches via the Henry Hospital's nurse and is as good as new again.

And...drumroll please.  I'm back AND I have found my camera!!!!  Wow what a busy month we have had.  We have had the pleasure of helping welcome two little girls into the world, Taedon turned one and Dontae finished more schooling.  Taedon had his 12 month doctor appointment.  He now weighs 25.5 lbs and is 32 inches tall.  He is above 95% for height and 85% for weight.  I have discovered he has a love for cantaloupe and he now eats whatever we are eating.  No more baby food!!!  It is so much easier to just cut up our dinner rather than having to make him something separate.  I have found we are eating a bit healthier now also as a result.  He is a pro at walking and tries to run occasionally.  Poor Niko can't get away from him fast enough sometimes.  On the other hand, they play together all of the time now and are best friends at the same time.

I have quite a few pics and videos to share since I haven't posted in awhile and I'm sure after I hit publish, I will find others like I always do so don't be surprised if I post again soon.  I should have Taedon's birthday party pictures soon so be on the look out for that post as well.

About once a day Niko goes upstairs with me and I don't realize it and I lock the gate with him up there.  He will sit here for quite awhile before finally either barking or whining to let me know he would like to join us.  He is such a patient dog.

Spring has sprung which means our grass is growing like the weeds that it mostly is.  Taedon loved watching his dad mow the lawn for the first time.  He kept watching and pointing at him.

As I said in my last, sad post about my camera, I don't have a lot of pictures from Taedon's birthday since our photographer took almost all of them at his party.  So with that said, here are a few from his actual birthday.

He wasn't quite sure what to think of the candle.  I put a candle in every meal during the day.

He loved his balloons from his grandma.  They hung around the house for weeks.

His birthday day cake.  He ate some but didn't smash it like all other kids seem to do.  I had some and it was a little rich so maybe that is why.  He demolished his cupcake that I made at his party though.

His friend Audrey came for the weekend for his party.  They had so much fun playing all weekend.

Cleaning up after he opened all of his amazing presents from his party.

Posing on the couch.  I have a picture (that I can't get to at the moment but is probably on the blog) of these two sitting on the couch last summer when he was only a few months old.  We decided we are going to take a new one every time they are together on the couch so we can see how much they have grown.  It's amazing the difference a year makes.

Easter Sunday

My dad also was in town for his birthday so one day we went and walked around the Naval Academy.  Luckily Taedon fell asleep so we could take our time and take in the scenery.  It was a beautiful day.
.

For some reason, if you ask Taedon if he wants a hot dog, he shakes his head no yet if you feed him one he will eat it.  That is the only thing he will say no to right now.  It makes me laugh

He also has devised a new plan to pick up ice from the floor since it always slips out of his fingers.  I think he learned it from Niko honestly.

We went to Navy's spring game a couple of weeks ago.  Taedon really enjoyed it surprisingly.  He did spend a lot of the time running through the bleachers but the weather was beautiful and it wasn't crowded so it was an enjoyable day.

Waiting for the game to start

Watching with dad

Heading to talk strategy with the players

He found a friend on the field.  Hard to believe these two are almost the exact same age.

Sometimes when I am in the kitchen, I get this strange feeling I am being watched.

We had a visitor in our backyard this morning.  Love it!

M. I. A.

Three so powerful letters which describe my posts and now my camera.  I apologize for not posting in awhile.  That is if anyone even noticed? :)  We got terribly tied up planning Taedon's first birthday (can you believe it?) and other daily things that I forgot to keep the blog up to date.  AAANNNDDD now my camera seems to have disappeared with, you guessed it, pictures and videos all on it.  I can't remember when I last transferred files so I am desperately hoping it turns up.  Luckily our photographer did all of the pictures from Taedon's birthday (minus the super adorable video I had of him "blowing out his candle") so I will have those to post in a week or so.  I will keep you posted...let's hope it turns up!!
