Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Hope everyone wore their green and didn't get pinched! We celebrated by going out for Mexican food for lunch. Very festive in our own way. I had a hard time getting a good picture of Taedon in his shirt so I apologize for the blurry pictures. He won't sit still as you can tell since each picture was taken in a different room.

The weather has been sooooo incredibly nice this week that we have been outside every single day either going for runs, going for after dinner walks or just sitting outside. I cannot wait until we get a deck on the back of the house so that we can stop sitting on our small front porch. Just having windows open and fresh air in the house has been a very welcomed change. I have been living in apartments since I was 19 and missed being able to open doors and windows and have the wind blow through the house.
Taedon has never felt grass before and he wasn't quite sure what to make of it. Have you ever seen a dog that someone has put shoes or socks on try to walk? Well that is what he looked like crawling in the grass. He did not like his hands to touch it. Walking barefoot he was fine but since our yard is pretty sloped, he wasn't able to walk alone in the grass. He did well on the sidewalk though.

He wasn't quite sure what to make of how the grass felt on his feet.
So he just stood there and looked around.
Even Niko got out and sunned himself. This dog LOVES the sun!
Ahh...spring blossoms on the trees. I can't wait to see how our house looks during the summer months since this will be our first year in the house.
My attempt to get a cute picture of him. He wouldn't put his hands in the grass so again, just sat there frozen and wouldn't smile.
He worked up quite the appetite. Who is this little kid and what did you do with my baby?

Taedon has been busy practicing walking lately. It's amazing how fast he can get to where he shouldn't be these days. Niko has also noticed he really has to be alert if he doesn't want to be attacked from behind or while taking a nap. Neither of which are easy when you are deaf.
I got tired of toys being all over the house so I have consolidated them all to his playroom upstairs. He uses all of them more now and the house stays cleaner which I like. Eventually when a brother or sister comes along he will lose this room but for now, he can spread out.
As you can see, though, they are still inseparable no matter what they do. See how good he is getting?
We ordered a futon for the office and Taedon was in awe of how large the boxes were. They also worked great as barricades to keep him in the kitchen while I cooked dinner.
"Mom, this thing is huge! Oh and there is a hole in the box. Were you aware of it?"
"Help! Someone put a gate at the top of the stairs and I can't get downstairs."
Niko gets annoyed by the gate as well. I try to always make sure he is on the same floor as us but sometimes he gets locked out.
He still isn't sure if he likes to swing or not. He never enjoyed the swing we had as an infant so maybe they just aren't his thing. He does love to put his stuffed animals in the swing and swing them. He always hangs on too which makes me laugh.
So I think I have listed his vocab list so far but in case I haven't, he knows mama, dada, baba, nana, apple and will say pfff when he wants to eat a Gerber puff. Here he is saying apple which is his also his favorite word.
We have finally found a group of moms that we like through meetup.com and have attended a few meetups. Last week we made the cutest St. Patrick's day hand print craft. I can't wait to display this for years to come. He was proud of it as you can tell.

I have let Taedon eat with us lately and he now insists on only eating things he can feed himself. This means that baby food is almost phased out at our house already which is fine by me. It is so expensive to buy and time consuming to make. I got him a toddler spoon and fork and as you can see, he's still figuring it out. He will use it but it seems that sometimes fingers and straight licking is easier/more fun.
And sometimes, some will make it on the inside...I think.
