Taedon's first day of school

We signed Taedon up for a preschool type program called My First School.  He goes T-Th from 10-12 and he is loving it so far.

Kyan had to jump into a picture and show us his belly button.

Snow day

We haven't gotten a lot of snow so far this winter (knock on wood) but what we have gotten, Taedon has taken advantage of the new deck and used it like a giant, frozen sandbox.  I loved it because he could go outside while I stayed inside where it was warm.  Kyan refuses to wear gloves so he can't go out in the snow for now.

Kyan is two!l

Birthday donuts have become a tradition for us.

Tandon always has to have the strawberry frosted one.

We went to the National Aquarium for his special day.  We got an annual pass for Christmas and I can't wait to take full use of it.  The boys love this place.  I'm still trying to figure out settings on my good camera.  I think I need to just take a class on it.

This snake is always in this position every time we go.  Like for the past three years.  I am starting to think it isn't a real snake.

I could sit here and watch this wall forever.  It is so mesmerizing and has replaced my favorite of the shark tank.

Back at the house, they tried out the ball pit balls in the bounce house that Ky got from his uncle Josh for his birthday.

I try to always do a theme cake that has something to do with the birthday boy.  For Taedon's second birthday I did a fish cake since we went to the aquarium but didn't want to repeat that for Kyan.  So I did a frog since it ties in a bit with the aquarium.  Mostly, though, I did it because when we read his favorite book, Dear Zoo, he gets up and "jumps like a frog" on the frog page.  Plus I found one I could pull off and have it look good.  It tasted as good as it looked also.

The children's museum in Baltimore had a promotion for anyone with a military ID could get in free for a month or so and we decided to take advantage of it.  We all had a really good time until we miscalculated snack time and ended up with some pretty significant melt downs.  BUT, we did have fun before that occurred.

We did Elf on the Shelf this year.  Meet Percy.  Taedon had a great time trying to find him each morning.  He was sad when he had to leave on Christmas and is looking forward to him returning next year.

We made cookies this year.  They boys had a great time decorating and eating their creations.

Taedon decided this year Santa needed some of the cookies we decorated, chocolate milk and a strawberry frosted donut.  This was huge because I had picked up donuts for Christmas morning and only got one strawberry frosted (Taedon's absolute favorite) and he decided that Santa needed to have it.  It was such a sweet gesture.

Trying out the boys new sled.  Sort of...
