Taedon got his first round of shots on Friday and I must give him credit...he took it well.  It was definitely much harder on me than it was on him.  My little boy is so tough.  Luckily he didn't get sick and really wasn't even cranky either which worked out well since we had a wedding on Saturday to attend.  He looked so cute in his little dress outfit but whoever thought making pants without snaps in the legs/crotch for an infant was a good ides should be fired.  And you better believe I will look for that next time :)  Oh well...he looked adorable anyhow.

Usually I look forward to summer so that I can plant flowers on my patio but this year I decided to just do one plant since we might be moving soon and with taking care of Taedon I didn't want to spend the money to only forget to water them and have them die.  So I opted for one beautiful hibiscus plant that to my surprise has red, pink and yellow flowers all in one bush.  The other day it was so pretty after the rain I had to capture the flowers.

Lastly...Taedon is getting so good at holding his head up during tummy time that I was able to get a good shot of him.  How can you resist smiling when you look at this cute little face?

We have been pretty busy the past ten days or so.  Last week we had stuff just about everyday which made time fly by.  We met with our real estate agent to get the ball rolling on buying a house.  Stay tuned for updates on this.  Our lease is up in November so we have some time still but are actively looking now.  Hoping we find what we want, where we want and for the price we want.  I'm not asking for too much am I?  On Wednesday I had my 6 week follow up appointment with my doctor and everything checked out perfectly.  I had lost another 5 lbs which brings my total weight loss to 31 lbs since the day before having Taedon.  The doctor was impressed and I am thrilled.  On Thursday my dad came into town to meet his grandson and we spent the weekend together.  Dontae went to Atlantic City for a bachelor party so we just hung around the house for the most part.  So like I said...busy week.  I of course took pictures and videos all week and want to share.

I started cloth diapering about 10 days ago and so far it is going very well.  He has had a few leaks as I work on getting them sized perfectly to him but for the most part, I am glad we decided to do it.  I just love how cute they look on him and minus the laundry and stuffing everyday, I feel better about not throwing away so much trash.  I'm debating on switching to cloth wipes as well but haven't decided if I will yet.

My stash on the drying rack after the first wash.

Sporting his first cloth diaper!  He seems to like them so far.

He has started really following things and looking at them and the other day he was very infatuated with his mobile.  I just love the mesmerized look on his face.

We also introduced a rattle to him.  He kept dropping it but loved the sound.

Trying out his play mat.  He seems to really like it so far.

Practicing tummy time...Niko decided to join in the fun.

My sweet boy all snuggled up.

Niko turned the five years old on Friday.  Hard to believe that just five years ago I got a dog because I had given up on finding a man to marry and have kids with (haha) and this year I celebrated with both.  Usually I get Niko a pupcake (doggy safe cupcake) but since we just moved here, I had no idea where to get one so I switched it up this year with a milkbone covered in peanut butter with five snausages for candles.  He loved it.  Also we got him a boppy for his present because he keeps laying in Taedons so why not just get him his own.  He didn't need anything since he has a million toys and treats anyhow so the gift was perfect.  Needless to say he loves it!

A fun few days of celebrating me!

It has been an eventful few days of celebration for me and the little guy.  I got to celebrate my first Mother's Day this year and had my first birthday as a mom both within a few days of each other.  Needless to say I feel blessed and have enjoyed the week!

Mother's day was a day of good food and letting family meet Taedon.  He enjoyed himself but was very tired after his long day of fun and meeting everyone.

Happy Birthday to me!  I usually make a new recipe for my cake or cupcakes each year and spend the weeks prior trying to figure out what I want.  This year the final decision had come down to Chocolate Malted Cupcakes with Chocolate Malted Milk Whipped Cream Frosting (basically chocolate with a Whopper candy twist) but after a long day on Sunday, Taedon wasn't in the mood to let me bake on Monday so I opted for a store bought creation this year.  It was a very attractive cake and tasted even better than it looked so I was ok with not having homemade.  I do, however, look forward to planning his first birthday party next year and making some new creation to celebrate.  Many thanks to my loving hubby for the new sparklers in my ears.  It was a combo anniversary/push present/birthday/Mother's day gift and I love my new earrings!!  They are so beautiful.

And a random picture from the other day...

I'm a month old!

Well Taedon is a month old today.  Last week he rolled over...if he happens to start walking or talking before the day is over I will definitely repost. :)  So far he is just enjoying his day of eating and sleeping while I take a million pictures.

My attempt at trying to get them both to look at me.  This was the best one I got.

Enjoying some tummy time.
