Having a jumping contest.  Every time Kyan gets in his jumper, Taedon insists that his trampoline be placed next to him so that they can jump together.

This kid will put anything he can get his hands on into his mouth.  You can see Taedon was not happy about this and was moving in to correct him.  He loves to remove anything he doesn't think is a Kyan toy and replace it with one that is.

Taedon is currently obsessed with trains.  He loves to take every little car he owns and make his own train.  This was his most impressive one yet.  It used every toy car he could find.  And also a few blue triangle blocks.  Of all of his blocks, apparently the blue triangle ones can be interchanged into anything he can imagine.  This day it was part of the train.

His other current obsession is flowers.  He brings me dandelions by the dozen every time he goes outside.  I just love how excited he is to bring me flowers.  He runs into the house yelling "Ma, flowers!"  This one still had roots on it.  Thankfully he didn't pull it out of someones yard.  I'm still trying to teach him that you can't pick all flowers.

We went to the train park again.  He wasn't so sure about sitting on an elephant.

After he conquered the giant green hill all by himself.  He was very proud of himself.

We found cousin Rylan's paci that got left on accident.  He loves to pretend he's a baby with it.  It's funny, since he never took a paci when he was a baby, he doesn't really understand what it is.  He just knows that Kyan uses one sometimes.

Sporting their matching Austin shirts.  Kyan wanted to make sure everyone knows he has a foot.

Enjoying his teething ring.  Both boys have loved these rings.  If you don't have one for a teething baby, I highly recommend them.

Trying out a Pinterest idea.  In theory it was a good idea but the paint didn't spread as easily as Taedon would have liked.  It lasted about five minutes before he was on to something else.

Blowing dandelions.  He has only stuck it in his mouth once so far.  I guess he learned.

Fresh out of the bath and hanging out before bed.

Hi mom!  Kyan really enjoys his floor time when Taedon naps.  He's safe to roll around and explore without having to worry he's about to be "loved on" by big brother.

Kyan is obsessed with sucking/chewing on a washcloth while in the bath.

The ritual as we enter and exit Target.  Thankfully he is now ok with hugging just one ball instead of all of them.

Kyan is still perfecting sitting so he can't take a bath with big brother just yet but I have been bringing him in after his bath so they can have a splash party after they are done getting clean.  They LOVE it!

Since Kyan is on the larger size for his age (he outgrew his infant seat in the past few weeks) he now has to sit in the cart instead of being in it in his infant seat.  This is a bit hard since like I said, he is still perfecting sitting.  CostCo carts are perfect for this because Taedon can sort of help me keep Kyan upright while we shop.  They loved sitting together in the cart for the first time.

A fun fact about Taedon, he has never enjoyed swinging.  Ever.  Like panic would set in if you put him in a swing and tried to push him.  Apparently, though, when he saw how much fun Kyan was having (he laughs non stop on the swings) he decided to give it a try.  They let me push them for close to 20 minutes the other day.

Constant giggling.

So much fun he fell right asleep while I was pushing.  Granted it was his nap time but still pretty funny how he could be having so much fun then two seconds later be dead asleep.

Taedon has a few books about trucks that he loves to read.  For some reason of all of the trucks, the bucket truck stood out to him so as we see trucks when we are out and about he tends to call most of them bucket trucks.  The other day he was so proud of himself.  He yelled to me "Ma, a bucket truck!"  Why yes, Taedon, you are correct!

Hoping he still thinks mowing the yard is fun in about ten years when he actually has to do it.

We have had a busy few weeks since my last post so there are a lot of pictures to show off.

Taedon took some friends to CostCo the other day.

Big brother shared a toy.  I always walk into the largest trucks being shared while Kyan is in his walker.  Kyan loves it.
Taedon had his cousin Davawn over for a play day and he spent the night.  The boys had a blast playing together.

Little brother watching all of the fun waiting for the day he can join.

For the 4th of July we went to Virginia Beach to see friends.  It was a great few days of fun for kids and adults alike.

My first 4th.

Taedon and Audrey cruising around in her car.

We went to the beach the last day we were there to take Kyan to see the ocean for the first time.  Again, fun was had by all.

Kyan loved the water.  He and I sat in it and he splashed for quite awhile while big brother and dad buried each other in the sand.

Back at home, it was business as usual.  Kyan and Niko had a staring contest.

Kyan won.

My sister, mom and niece came for a visit.  We tried very hard to do a photo shoot with all three kids.  Here is one of the best shots we got.  Hair was pulled, tears were shed, cute individual pictures were gotten but not many where all three were even in the same frame.  So enjoy our masterpiece.

Rylan loved taking care of Kyan.  She was always there to help him with his pacifier.  It was fun to watch since they are about the same size even though she is about ten months older than him.

I found a nearby park that has a huge play ground, a train and a carousel.  It was a great afternoon even though it was super hot outside.  Taedon was beyond excited about the train.

Waiting in line for the train to arrive.

On the train.  Taedon got all excited when it started moving and the engineer yelled "all aboard!"  He says that every time he hears the train go by our house or when he is playing with trains.  He's slightly obsessed with trains at the moment so this was a real treat for him.  We plan to go back very soon.

Posing with the engine.

He loved the carousel also.  Kyan and I didn't ride so that I could take pictures.  Taedon enjoyed waving to us every time he came around to where we were standing.

A good game of "where's Taedon?"

Kyan showing off his new tooth.  He is currently working on #2.  Teething has been much more painful for Kyan than it was for Taedon.  Poor guy.

Enjoying some alone time while brother naps.

He is obsessed with trying to walk in my rain boots.  It's quite funny to watch him try.

Studying already.

Helping mom fold and stuff diapers.

Enjoying some homemade chocolate ice cream.

He can almost sit.  He will do it for a few seconds before he falls over so the boppy once again is coming in handy.  Every time he is laying on his back he tries to sit up.  The kid has abs of steel right now.

The boys are growing like weeds and changing daily.  To see them interact and love on each other warms my heart.  Taedon loves to give Kyan kisses (always on his forehead) and Kyan always stares at Taedon with admiration.

Kyan is walking all around the house in his walker and eating some food with a spoon here and there.  So far he has tried bananas, apples and sweet potatoes.  He wasn't too into the apples but loved the other two.  At his 4 mos doctor appointment he was 19.6 lbs and was off the charts for height.  He is a pretty good sleeper usually only waking once a night.  He does have a bad night here and there but overall he is a decent sleeper.  He loves to just hang out and usually only cries when he is hungry or tired.  In fact he is sitting in his walker just starting at me and smiling as I type this out.

Taedon is starting to speak in sentences and learning new words daily.  He can put his own shoes on (the slip on Crocs) and loves to help take Niko out each day.  He answers yes or no when asked what he would like to eat or do when asked.  He can tell you most of his shapes, count up to 15, backwards from 5 and knows most of his colors.  He often says that "Kyan is fungy (funny)" while covering his mouth and smiling.  He also likes to tell me "Kyan is sweeping (sleeping)" and" Kyan is crying."  When he gets frustrated he says "oh man and oh jeez."  When helping clear the table, he yells "don't drop it" as he carries the plates and cups to the sink.  Thankfully he has yet to drop anything.  He has mastered the Ipad that we haven't had very long to the point that I had to put a password on it and make sure it is put away so that he doesn't want to use it all of the time.  Thankfully the educational games he plays have taught him some things.

Kyan loves to lay in Taedon's bed with him.  He would stay in there for hours if I would let him.  I think it's the pillow he likes.  Plus the company is great too.

Taking a cat nap

Taedon's first Playdoh experience.  He wasn't quite sure about it.

Kyan enjoying his homemade Ravens blanket.  Thanks Laura!

Another cat nap but Niko didn't get the memo.

Niko turned seven in May.  I couldn't find anywhere to buy him a pupcake so I attempted to make it.  It turned out pretty good if you ask me!

Don't be scared Niko.  It's tasty!  (He does this every year when we give it to him)

Taedon reliving his youth when we got the walker out for Kyan to start using.

Enjoying an ice cream cone.  I got an ice cream maker for my birthday and have made quite a few creations so far.  All have been pretty tasty!  I know this to be true because Taedon isn't much of a sweets person and he LOVES my ice cream so far.

Hi Mom!

Taedon's first ride on the metro into DC.  He cried the entire ride so I'm guessing his idea of a train ride wasn't quite what he experienced.  He enjoyed the trip home more though.  He yelled "ta da" every time the doors opened.

Kyan, however, enjoyed it.  Between the rocking and the noise, he fell right asleep on the ride.
