Once again my posts have been slacking BUT this time I have a good, if not great reason!! Taedon is going to be a big brother in late January 2013! We found out around Memorial Day (the same time I had my poison ivy) but just recently started telling people. We like to wait until the 12 week mark to spread the news. According to our 12 week ultrasound, we are having another boy. We both saw him on the screen but are waiting until the 20 week ultrasound to just make sure before we start to decorate the nursery. We also found out that my gestational diabetes has already made its presence so not only did I have horrible morning sickness all summer, I was battling that as well. But I am happy to say that for the most part, I have that under control with diet modification. So here is the little guy!

Last weekend we took our first annual Henry family vacation. We chose NYC for this year. To say we had a great time is an understatement. The trip went very smoothly and we saw a lot of great sites, ate a lot of great food and saw some great people. So to sum it up, GREAT! We spent our first day with Dontae's friend Amy catching up and hanging out with her beautiful family. The two days after that, we saw as much of NYC as we could. So here goes...
The horrible traffic trying to get on the George Washington bridge.
Luckily we were in good company while we waited. We have fans everywhere, even Jersey!
NYC, I see you!!!!
Our first stop was the Empire State Building. Luckily the lines were minimal and we didn't have to wait long. The entire process to get to the top and back down takes awhile. There are several elevators, sites, gift shops, etc that you go through on your way up and down that makes the visit long. We didn't mind though, the building was air conditioned!
The lobby
Our best attempt at a couple picture.
Such a cool backdrop!
I asked for cheese face and boy did I get it.
The city is so peaceful from this elevation. I could have stayed up there for hours and just looked down.
Family photo
"Mom, it's Madison Square Garden!!!!"
"I would bet I'm short enough I could sneak into a game unnoticed!"
The Stock Exchange on Wall Street. So much fun going on inside this building. We didn't go in but I can only imagine the chaos happening.
We did run into Donald Trump Jr. while walking down the street though. He was walking around in a suit like he owned the street. Which honestly, he probably does. I'm guessing he was heading into The Trump Building right across the street.
One of the new "twin towers" they are building. The building in the right of the picture is the other one. They definitely don't match and are different heights but that is probably a great idea in my opinion. It will make them blend in better. Still impressive.
The park area at ground zero. It was really pretty.
The survivor tree. This tree is/was between the two buildings and somehow survived it all.
Probably my favorite picture from the trip. You can see us all and Taedon kept making funny faces into the mirror of the side of the building.
The fountains were amazing. It really reflected how large the buildings were just in their footprint alone.
In all of the pictures with me, Taedon was more into my necklace than paying attention for a picture. We tried I guess.
Taedon wasn't overly fond of the train rides.
"Hello, room service? I would like a large chocolate milk, a hot dog and some Gerber puffs. And hurry up. I had a long day of riding in the stroller and I'm beat."
WHEW....wasn't day one fun!?!?!?! We enjoyed it but it was super hot and a lot of walking. I wasn't sure how we would survive day two. But we did and here it goes.
Times Square
Taedon fell asleep on our way to Times Square (our first stop of day two). I guess two days of hardly any naps will catch up with a toddler. He fell asleep shortly after this picture.
This wasn't on our "to visit" list but we were happy to stumble upon it. Such a cool building.
Another accidental find.
I was hoping to run into Tina Fey. No such luck.
Rockafeller Plaza - A very kind woman asked if we wanted a family picture. We finally got one! Too bad Taedon was still asleep. He slept the entire morning.
Grand Central Station
Inside. I was hoping a flash mob would break out. Guess no one was in the mood. So fun to watch the people all on a mission to be somewhere. Taedon finally woke up for this.
So we gave him the Nemo we got for him at the Disney Store in Times Square while he was sleeping. He was so excited. He watched this movie on the way to NYC in the car. He can almost say Nemo but it sounds more like Mama.
Central Park
The grand finale...FAO Schwarz! I was so excited to take Taedon. Needless to say he enjoyed himself.
The big piano!
One of the employees was driving this around. Taedon chased it for a good 10 minutes. So we got him his own age appropriate remote control car.
Finishing the day watching Nemo with his new Nemo
Hope you enjoyed our trip as much as we did. I have some other pictures from July and will do a post of them soon to catch everyone up.
