Taedon just figured out how to crawl a month ago and is already attempting to take some steps.  I always thought I understood (and sometimes probably rolled my eyes at the statement) when my parents said "you grew up way too fast" but having my own child, I now understand.

We just got him this yesterday so he hasn't mastered it just yet but he really likes it.  I'm sure by my next post I will have a cute video of him racing through the house with it.

We also finally invested in some baby proofing.  Taedon has a love/hate relationship so far with his new baby jail.  I put Niko in with him today and got this "what did I do to deserve jail" look from him.  Taedon loved company though.

Prime example of why baby jail was needed.  I swear I left him alone for two minutes while I swept the floor and he made his way from the kitchen to the bathroom, unrolled all of the toilet paper and swished the water everywhere.  He was soaked by the time I found him and oh so proud of himself.  Gross...  I couldn't be too mad at him though.  I am the one that left the door open and the lid up.  At least I remembered to close the door to the stairs that lead to the basement that are right across from this doorway.

I love this picture for many reasons.  Dontae and Shalimar lived together when he and I started talking again in 2006 and every time I visited, they were playing Madden.  Once Dontae went on deployment and subsequently moved to San Diego, he packed up his Play Station and it never left the box again.  Shal came to visit over the weekend and somehow conversations led to the Play Station being pulled out and a Madden 2005 (yes that is right) showdown began.  I didn't catch who was the winner in the end but I think they had fun.

This makes me so sad and yet thankful all it did was melt and not catch on fire or something.  I have been making a lot of homemade bread lately whether it is in the bread maker or making dough in the bread maker and making the bread in the oven.  The only problem I have run into with actually baking the bread in the oven is getting it to rise in our semi-chilly house.  So the other day to speed things up I rigged the space heater on the counter to help speed the process along.  It worked...but when I moved the towel, I saw this.  RIP little space heater.  You kept a pregnant, not used to winter yet again girl warm last year.  And a little doggy too!  Needless to say, lesson learned.

It's amazing how much Taedon changes each day.  He just started crawling everywhere (which means he is into everything) and now is trying to stand and take steps.  Good thing we have plenty of space for him to roam around and find things to get into, but we can't wait for spring to get here so we can play outside.

He loves bath time.  Sometimes I think he fakes being tired and ready for bed so that he can go get in the bath.  Last night he started blowing bubbles in the water.  So funny to watch.

Loves his own little cabinet in the kitchen that I made for him and of all of the fun toys I put in there, his favorites are the empty sour cream container and wood spoons.

"What do you mean the blueberry muffins are all gone?  I want more please."

Helping make daddy's lunch for work.  Who doesn't love lunch meat, an onion and Oreos?

Yay for cuteness!  Hope these cheeser pics make you smile as much as they did me.

He was in a good mood because he had just destroyed the piles I had made to organize and stuff all of his diapers.  For some reason he can't stand organization and loves to "help" me create chaos.

This one still makes me laugh.  I had just gotten his favorite blanket off of the drying rack and wrapped it around him while he ran around in his walker.  He was running at full speed when I held up the camera and said "say cheese" and he stopped dead in his tracks and held this face until I took the picture.  My little ham.

Here is my other laundry helper.  This dog will stalk you if he sees you pull fresh laundry out of the dryer and when you aren't looking, make a bed out of it.  Doesn't matter if it is hot any longer or not.  Something about fresh clean laundry that he loves.

I have been trying new adult foods with Taedon recently.  I am working with him on finger foods and trying to get him to experience new things and practice picking things up.  This morning since I was making myself some scrambled eggs I figured he might like some as well.  He liked them for a few bites before realizing that they also fly nicely off of his tray if he picks them up and launches them.  Needless to say he ended up with them everywhere and Niko assumed his position underneath the high chair to catch himself some breakfast as well.

"Mom these are pretty tasty!"  (this is the before pic obviously all nice and clean)

...and the after pic.  He ended up getting some yogurt and fruit (his favorite breakfast) as well since I'm not sure how much of the eggs he actually ate.
