For some reason lately, every time Kyan eats, this happens almost automatically.

He was helping me with diaper laundry.  Really all he did was attempt to eat a few and scatter them everywhere.

Studying for a scholarship already.

Navy vs. Airforce.  It was HOT but both kids were pretty well behaved.  It was Kyan's first football game.

This was the day after the game.  We were all so tired and lazy.

Finally starting to hold his own bottle.

He has started to pull himself up.  He has mastered it on Taedon's train table since there is a lip he can grab onto.  He loves to be able to play with his brother and see what is going on.

Taedon has never attempted to climb out of his crib so we had decided that at 2 1/2 we would just change his bed to the toddler conversion since we had already bought the rail for it.  We did it last weekend and he loves his new big boy bed.  He has only gotten up a few times so far.  Much better than I had anticipated the transition would be and I like how when he is done sleeping, he can just come downstairs.  Growing up so fast.

I have been trying to update at least once a month but just realized it has been way longer than that.  New things around this house...Kyan has been teething and is working on his top tooth/teeth.  I only see one poking through but I'm sure the next one isn't too far behind.  Teething is rough for the poor little guy.  He has finally started army crawling and can get clear across the room and pulls himself up occasionally.  Still no actual crawling though.  And when he does pull himself up, he tends to let go and fall backwards.  He still prefers to hold his feet rather than his bottle.  All in all he's just a very laid back baby.  Unless he is tired or in pain.  He is eating solids and the only thing he really doesn't like is peas.  Other than that he has a very healthy appetite.

Taedon is starting to speak in sentences that actually make sense.  He repeats everything and has a pretty good memory.  For instance, right now he tells me about ten times a day that his bike is broken and his fish died.  RIP Orange.  We plan to fix the bike soon (need to order some parts) and buy him a new fish.  Whe I asked him what color of new fish he wants he says purple and wants to name it Orange.  He still has some issues pronouncing words even though he tries his hardest.  My favorites are packapiller = caterpillar, spries = fries, and kamote = remote.  He is very into The Hungry Caterpillar and Thomas the Train at the moment.  Thank you Netflix for having both available to us as needed for me to get things done around the house.

He LOVES to collect his flowers and bring them to me.  We have vases full of these on the counter because if he sees me throw any away he gets upset.  I try to reduce the inventory after he goes to bed.

We took the boys to the state fair this year.  It...was...an experience.  It was hot for starters and we went in the late afternoon/evening so the bewitching hour had begun for the boys.  We had fun though.  We ate greasy food, Taedon played some games and won some prizes and we saw some cool animals.

Kyan mostly just wanted me to carry him around.  Instead of the huge double stroller I should have just worn him in a carrier.  He had fun even though he doesn't appear to be enjoying himself.

First stop was the fun house.  Taedon came out with a huge smile on his face.

His favorite was fishing.  He loves to splash in water and was upset when it was time to move on.  He would have stayed there all night and would have if we had let him.

We had to walk through the cow building twice.

Coloring at his cousins birthday party.  He had a blast!  It was a really cute Dr. Seuss theme.

This was in the parking lot at a restaurant we went to.  He was in LOVE.

We have been introducing him to the toilet.  He thinks that the water main in our front yard is a "potty time" as he calls the toilet.

Kyan falls asleep every time I put him in the swing.  Poor guy, we usually go to the park during his nap time.

He finally decided these would be fun to ride.

So these are the fish that have died already.  I had gotten him feeder goldfish to make sure he was going to enjoy having fish.  They lasted a month so they were worth the $.60 we paid for them.  Next up is a betta.  We are hoping for a longer lifespan.

Big brother gave him plenty of options.  He had a blast.

Quite awhile ago I painted this chalkboard/magnet wall.  We needed organization and I thought it would be fun for the boys.  Needless to say, the magnet portion doesn't work very well so it's more of just a chalk wall.  It was so much work that I waited months before I let him dust it up with the chalk.  He does love it though.

I just realized I haven't been posting Kyan's monthly pics so I will probably just post them all on his first birthday so you can see how he changed each month.  Taedon kept photo bombing the last session.  As you can see T wasn't happy that I wouldn't let him in the pictures and Kyan was very distracted.    Kyan gives this look to Taedon a lot.

Back when we lived in San Diego I had made a Thanksgiving wreath for our front door.  Through moves and time, the pumpkin had fallen off and somehow Taedon found it and has adopted it.  He calls it Pumpkin Patch and carries it around, feeds it and waters it.  I guess I will have to find another idea to redo my wreath with.

Having a jumping contest.  Every time Kyan gets in his jumper, Taedon insists that his trampoline be placed next to him so that they can jump together.

This kid will put anything he can get his hands on into his mouth.  You can see Taedon was not happy about this and was moving in to correct him.  He loves to remove anything he doesn't think is a Kyan toy and replace it with one that is.

Taedon is currently obsessed with trains.  He loves to take every little car he owns and make his own train.  This was his most impressive one yet.  It used every toy car he could find.  And also a few blue triangle blocks.  Of all of his blocks, apparently the blue triangle ones can be interchanged into anything he can imagine.  This day it was part of the train.

His other current obsession is flowers.  He brings me dandelions by the dozen every time he goes outside.  I just love how excited he is to bring me flowers.  He runs into the house yelling "Ma, flowers!"  This one still had roots on it.  Thankfully he didn't pull it out of someones yard.  I'm still trying to teach him that you can't pick all flowers.

We went to the train park again.  He wasn't so sure about sitting on an elephant.

After he conquered the giant green hill all by himself.  He was very proud of himself.

We found cousin Rylan's paci that got left on accident.  He loves to pretend he's a baby with it.  It's funny, since he never took a paci when he was a baby, he doesn't really understand what it is.  He just knows that Kyan uses one sometimes.

Enjoying his teething ring.  Both boys have loved these rings.  If you don't have one for a teething baby, I highly recommend them.

 Trying out a Pinterest idea.  In theory it was a good idea but the paint didn't spread as easily as Taedon would have liked.  It lasted about five minutes before he was on to something else.

Blowing dandelions.  He has only stuck it in his mouth once so far.  I guess he learned.

Hi mom!  Kyan really enjoys his floor time when Taedon naps.  He's safe to roll around and explore without having to worry he's about to be "loved on" by big brother.

Kyan is obsessed with sucking/chewing on a washcloth while in the bath.

The ritual as we enter and exit Target.  Thankfully he is now ok with hugging just one ball instead of all of them.

Kyan is still perfecting sitting so he can't take a bath with big brother just yet but I have been bringing him in after his bath so they can have a splash party after they are done getting clean.  They LOVE it!

Since Kyan is on the larger size for his age (he outgrew his infant seat in the past few weeks) he now has to sit in the cart instead of being in it in his infant seat.  This is a bit hard since like I said, he is still perfecting sitting.  CostCo carts are perfect for this because Taedon can sort of help me keep Kyan upright while we shop.  They loved sitting together in the cart for the first time.

A fun fact about Taedon, he has never enjoyed swinging.  Ever.  Like panic would set in if you put him in a swing and tried to push him.  Apparently, though, when he saw how much fun Kyan was having (he laughs non stop on the swings) he decided to give it a try.  They let me push them for close to 20 minutes the other day.

So much fun he fell right asleep while I was pushing.  Granted it was his nap time but still pretty funny how he could be having so much fun then two seconds later be dead asleep.

Taedon has a few books about trucks that he loves to read.  For some reason of all of the trucks, the bucket truck stood out to him so as we see trucks when we are out and about he tends to call most of them bucket trucks.  The other day he was so proud of himself.  He yelled to me "Ma, a bucket truck!"  Why yes, Taedon, you are correct!  

Hoping he still thinks mowing the yard is fun in about ten years when he actually has to do it.
