Two posts in two days! I just had to post this video from bath time last night. I heard this cute giggling coming from the bathroom and ran in to see what was so funny. Needless to say I was enjoying watching this so much I almost forgot to run grab the camera. He laughed like this for several minutes but of course by the time I started taping he was almost done. Glad I caught some of it.
Also I finally got a short video of Taedon's version of crawling for the moment. I call him my little inchworm because he moves like one to get around. It is cute and he is pretty darn fast.
Welcome to the adventures of the Henry family unit. We are happy to have you along for the ride!

Well...we finally did it. We own our first home! Well actually in 30 years after the bank allows us to give them our hard earned paychecks every month it will be ours. But we get to live in it in the meantime. It only took two houses, six inspections (yes six thanks to a very shady house flipper aka the seller on our first house and Hurricane Irene on the second) and six months to get it done but we finally got it. It was well worth the wait and frustration. Needless to say watching the show House Hunters for many years did NOT prepare me for the journey one bit. It was a bank owned forclosure so we have quite a bit of cosmetic work ahead of us but I think it is going to look great when we are done with it. We have already gotten our first taste of home ownership when the new lock we put on the front door broke after just two days and we were locked in the house. It took me going out through the garage and rigging the handle while Dontae turned the key and rigged it from the inside to free us. Oh the journey we have ahead of us.
Niko is already in love with all of the space and the fact that we have some south facing windows so that he can lay in the sun all day long.
We got Taedon dedicated at church a couple of Sunday's ago. Can't wait to hang up his beautiful plaque in his room once we are moved in. We had the same pastor that married us do his dedication so it was very special and a fun day spent in Annapolis.
Taedon will probably give me the silent treatment when he is older for posting this picture but I can't resist. It is so cute. He LOVES bath time these days. I am excited to get him into swimming lessons or even just a pool next summer and see him go. He loves to kick and splash in the bath so much that the other night I ended up pretty wet myself.
I have been teaching Taedon to give Niko his milkbone after we take him out for his walks and we almost have it to where Taedon will give it directly to him without trying to sample it first. Niko is so sweet when he takes it out of Taedon's hand even when Taedon forgets to let go. The other night I was eating some animal crackers (Niko's favorite human food snack next to Wheat Thins) and I had quite the audience while eating so I gave Taedon a cracker to feed Niko and he couldn't stop laughing. Needless to say Niko had way more cookies than he should have but it made for a really cute video.

Oh my...how is it possible that we are the proud parents of a six month old already?
Six month stats:
weight ~ 19 lbs 12 oz and is in the 90%
height ~ 28 inches and is in the 95%
I would say bawed on those numbers that he is growing perfectly fine. He had his first reaction to shots with a fever that night but it went away the next day luckily. He was a very calm sick baby. Didn't cry much and was so cuddly.
We have been giving him more foods lately. So far everything seems to be a hit except for peas. Yesterday he tried Gerber's version of chicken and noodles. To me it looks like mustard but it does smell like chicken noodles when cooked. I gave it a try today...sure doesn't taste like it but he seems to really like it.
Brushing his teeth.
Random picture in his "devil" outfit.
"Good morning mom! How did you sleep?" We have been having issues getting him to sleep at night. He slept through the night from two weeks to about four months then he just randomly stopped. The doctor suggested we just let him cry it out so that he learns to self sooth. I knew this day would come eventually but it wasn't easy to start it. We have been doing it and had two successful nights so far. I hope he keeps it up for everyones sake.

We took him to his first football game on 10.1.11, Navy vs. Air Force. He seemed to really enjoy himself. It was a bit cold and ended up starting to rain during overtime but he was awake and paying attention for most of the game. Might have a future ESPN lover on our hands.
Sturges was reading Taedon a negotiations book the other day. He was really into it as you can tell.
We have teeth!!!!!
To give perspective on how much he has grown since we brought him home. He used to sleep sideways like this in his bed. Not so much anymore.

Sitting up all by himself. He will last for about a minute before he falls over but still it is progress.
Best buddies as always...
Relaxation...
