Two weeks old and growing like a weed...

Hard to believe Taedon is two weeks old today!  My how time flies.  It feels like he just arrived yet has been a part of our lives for much longer.  Everyday is a new experience and he keeps us guessing most of the time.  So far, we do know that he hates not being dressed, hates diaper changes, doesn't like his feet touched and has a very sensitive back.  He is eating well which is good.  We had his two week dr's appointment today and he weighs 9 lbs 4 oz so he made it back up to his birth weight plus an ounce which is right on track.  Next appointment is at two months and he has to get his first round of shots.  I am not looking forward to that appointment one bit.

We got professional pictures done when he was 5 days old.  Couldn't be happier with how they turned out.  He was such a good little model. 



We gave him his first sponge bath the other day.  Needless to say he did not enjoy the experience.  I wonder how he will do once we can get him wet with water in the tub...

And afterwards...all better...thanks dad for fixing my hair.  And I smell so good now!

We also celebrated our first wedding anniversary on the 17th.  Again my how time flies...seems like we just got married and look at us now!  What a difference a year makes.

Aren't my boys just the cutest?  I am so lucky to have such a beautiful family.





He is still figuring out his swing.  Sometimes he likes it, sometimes he doesn't.  This was a good day :)







He's here!!!

Well we finally have our baby boy here safely!  We could not be more excited that he made it here happy and healthy.  April 6th was a fantastic day!

Waiting to be taken back to get started.  I was a bit nervous but so excited that sitting here waiting for 30 minutes didn't even bother me.

And here he is!  Taedon Joshua Henry was born via C-section on April 6th at 12:26 in the afternoon.  He weighed 9 lbs 3 oz and was 20 1/4 inches long. 

The delivery went as smooth as you could want and the hospital staff were perfect.  I couldn't have asked for a better experience. 

As you can see, he was very relaxed and happy to be here in the world. 

Going home...so ready to get settled into our new lives as a family!

Our first few days home have gone surprisingly smooth.  He is a great baby with a laid back temperment (except of course when he is hungry or you are changing a diaper) that he is a pleasure to take care of.  We feel very blessed to have been given such a perfect little baby to be our son.











3 days and counting...

Well we have just a few short days left until we finally get to meet our little man.  Had my 38 1/2 weeks appointment on Friday and nothing new.  He's still breech so we are still on schedule for Wednesday.  Hard to believe that it is so soon!  I'm nervous about the actual surgery part and recovery but I'm sure once I see his little face I will forget all about the pain.

We spent our last "kid free" Saturday night in Fells Point in Baltimore celebrating Katy's early 30th birthday for her surprise party.  Couldn't have had a better evening.  The company was great and the food was oh so very good.  We will definitly be going back there to get some delicious crab dip covered tator tots once I am able to eat things like that again.  I am now on a mission to find an excellent crab dip recipe.  Here is us and all of our cuteness last night.  The bar was so cute...it looked like an old house on the inside.  The entire 2nd floor had been rented out for us which was nice to have a private party.

I finally have the baby room ready to go and just in time.  Since we are using what this apartment considers a den for a baby room we don't have a lot of space but it all seems to fit in there good enough for now.  Luckily we will be moving before he gets too big and needs more space.

Here is his changing area.  The sign (for those from Wichita) is from Joyland and was the inspiration for the entire nursery.  I LOVED that ride growing up and when my mom and I were out hitting the antique stores last year together we came across it and I wanted it so bad.  My mom, being as great as she is, went back and bought it for me and surprised me with it.  I had been struggling with coming up with something to start the nursery and when she gave me this I knew it had to go in my kids room since it was a fond memory from my childhood.

Here is his tall chest of drawers dresser.  The bowling pins are another antique find of mine while I was in Wichita on our move across the country last year.  I thought they were such a cute set I had to get them.  They don't make toys like that anymore.  Good thing we are having a boy so that I could find fun things for his nursery and have them work.  I just love his first pair of shoes near the lamp.  Can't wait to put them on him. 

Here is his crib.  I really like how his name canvases turned out.  I hand painted them to make sure they matched and I think it turned out great.  I just love the colors in the bedding and they give me so many options to work with for decor.



Last picture for this post is his going home outfit.  I searched really hard to find exactly what I was looking for.  I wanted something special without it being too much.  Mom and I found this outfit at Nordstrom and it was perfect.  Since the weather here seems to be semi unpredictible from day to day, I think this is perfect whether it is warm or cold he will be comfortable and it is so soft too.
